mid-August going to see a showing of Bela Fleck’s “Throw Down Your Heart” documentary – his trip to Africa
will see it in Chicago, screening is followed by Q and A with Bela and a mini-set!

Caoimhin Mac Aoidh states that “the most common reason [for scordatura tuning] in Ireland…was to enable fiddlers to play long droning pipe imitations.” Here is an fiddler (Caoimhin O Raghallaigh of Dublin) with pipes, but look – it’s a hardanger fiddle!
